Why Papa Chill Beans?

There are many reasons to choose decaffeinated coffee. For Nóri Tóth’s father, coffee is an important part of his day – but not primarily because of the caffeine. Coffee creates an intimate moment, a small break in the day, a chance to slow down and enjoy some “me-time.” When Nóri noticed that a commercial decaf coffee was becoming part of this ritual in the late afternoons, she decided to seek out the best specialty coffee for her dad – so that nothing would be lost from the experience, except the caffeine. Decaffeination – The Natural Way

For this coffee, a natural compound called ethyl acetate, which is produced during sugar fermentation, is used to extract the caffeine. This gentle process preserves the coffee’s delicate aromas while making it completely decaffeinated.

Three Coffee Varietals, One Unique Flavor Experience

The exciting character of Papa Chill Beans comes from three special coffee varietals: Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia. Castillo is a relatively young Colombian varietal developed to resist coffee leaf rust diseases. This varietal has a medium body, bright acidity, and enriches the coffee’s flavor with fruity and floral notes. Caturra is a dwarf mutation of Bourbon, whose short stature allows for denser plantations and easier harvesting. Its flavor brings balance and fresh citrusy, fruity aromas, which pair particularly well with a light roast. The Colombia varietal is also a resistant, consistently high-quality coffee plant that enriches the trio with subtle milk chocolate and nutty notes, along with a mild fruitiness.
